Social/Emotional Learning Coordinator

Meeker School District is seeking individuals with the ability to coordinate social/emotional learning curriculum and instruction for student preschool through 12th grade.

Meeker School District has an approximate enrollment of 720 students in grades Pre-K through Twelve. We are seeking an individual who has the understanding of the intellectual, social, and emotional needs of the middle school student. Professional involvement beyond the local level and successful teaching experience are desirable. The Meeker Re-1 School District is seeking an enthusiastic person who wants to join a staff committed to “Excellence in all we do”.

Date Available: Position begins August 1, 2022

Job Functions/Qualifications:

  • Displays, at all times, acceptable professional and ethical standards including, but not limited to:  confidentiality, courtesy, cooperation and positive attitude, reliability/punctuality, timeliness in respect to deadlines, respectfulness toward others

  • Provides direct social/emotional learning instruction to students in preschool through 12th grade

  • Aids in the selection and effectiveness review of social/emotional learning curriculum

  • Plans and delivers professional development for educational staff to address student’s basic social/emotional learning needs

  • Assists with planning on an as-needed basis for structures including, but not limited to:

    1. RTI/MTSS

    2. ICAP

    3. 504

    4. ALP

    5. Standardized assessments

  • Assists in arranging for tutors and/or summer school opportunities.

  • A valid license as a school counselor, school psychologist, classroom teacher or working toward a valid license, OR

  • Demonstrated professional effectiveness in a setting where the aforementioned essential job functions were necessary

  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as district administration and the school board may find appropriate and acceptable

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary negotiable based upon qualifications and experience

  • Current salary schedule can be found here: MSD 22/23 Salary Schedule

  • Colorado Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA) member account with employer contribution of 21.4%.

  • Probationary Contract for 3 years

  • Coaching opportunities at the Middle and High School.

  • Reimbursement of moving expenses; up to $1,000 for in-state moves, and up to $2,000 for out-of-state moves.
