High School Assistant Custodian

Meeker School District is seeking applications for the Assistant Custodian position at the High School. The assistant custodian will be responsible for maintaining the High School and surrounding property to provide a safe and clean environment for students and staff.

 Date Available: Position begins immediately

Job Functions/Qualifications:

  • Must be able to comply with safety and health guidelines regarding equipment operations, handling chemicals and facility safety standards.

  • Maintain equipment, machinery, storage areas and supplies in an organized and safe manner.

  • Develop and implement building cleaning programs.

  • Participate in the weekend emergency on-call program.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license. and clear the motor vehicle background check.

  • Knowledge of safe operations and maintenance for auto scrubbers, hot water extractors, vacuum cleaners, wet-dry vacuums, low and high speed buffers, propane burnishers and other janitorial equipment.

  • Must be in good physical health, be able to work both indoors and outdoors and perform physically demanding work.

  • This job requires being able to safely lift 70 pounds without any physical limitations on a daily basis.

  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Check.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary negotiable based upon qualifications and experience

  • Current salary schedule can be found here: MSD 24/25 Salary Schedule

  • Fully paid health, dental and life insurance for the employee and $119 towards dependent health coverage.

  • Colorado Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA) member account with employer contribution of 21.4%.

  • 14 personal/sick days, and 10 days paid vacation time.

  • 4-10 summer work schedule available, working Monday through Friday with some Saturday duties during the school year.

  • Coaching opportunities at the Middle and High School.

  • Reimbursement of moving expenses; up to $1,000 for in-state moves, and up to $2,000 for out-of-state moves.
