For the past two years, Meeker Elementary School has engaged in learning opportunities through a partnership with Wisdom Ways Academy in Ghana, Africa. This partnership has been facilitated by OneSeed, which is a nonprofit organization run by a Meeker High School graduate. OneSeed has also offered curriculum materials for one of the elective courses at Barone Middle School during the 22-23 school year. Registration for preschool programs in Colorado is changing for the 2023-2024 school year. Families with children who will be four years old by July 1, 2023 are encouraged to register for Universal Preschool at upk.colorado.gov by May 11, 2023. Meeker Elementary School will hold a follow up event in early August to share specifics about our preschool program. ​School has been cancelled today, January 18, for the Meeker School District. Heavy snow, wind, and road conditions have created unsafe travel conditions throughout the county.

Boys Basketball is Just Around the Corner! The first day of practice will be Monday October 3rd after school. Check out our BMS Athletics Page for a tentative schedule for the season. Athletes must have a valid physical on file in order to practice/compete. We will host brief parent/athlete information nights at the start of the season (times below). This will be a great time to learn about BMS Athletics as well as get connected to our coaches/program to stay up to date throughout the season. 7th Grade - Parent/Athlete Night will take place immediately after the first practice on Monday October 3rd @ 5:30PM 8th Grade - Parent/Athlete Night will take place immediately after the second practice on Tuesday October 4th @ 5:30PM Any questions? Barone Middle School Back to School Night Wednesday August 17th 7th/8th Graders should arrive at 5:30 PM to get their schedules, put items in lockers, and join for the Athletic Parent Meeting at 6:00PM. 6th Graders should arrive at 6:15PM to get their schedules and put items in lockers. A welcome message will take place whole-group at 6:30PM. Students will then participate in rotations (about 10 minutes each) and end with a 6th Grade Trip Meeting at 7:10PM. We cannot wait to see you! -BMS Staff

The Rio Blanco County Department of Human Services has acquired approximately 200 boxes filled with nonperishable food items. These boxes are available near the bike racks at the end of the lower drop off loop at Meeker Elementary. The food boxes are intended for families who qualify for free/reduced lunch and/or are experiencing financial need. We ask that families only take one box per student living in their household. The food boxes are available on a first come, first served basis and no paperwork will be required for a family to take a food box (or boxes). Families are invited to stop by Meeker Elementary at their convenience in the next couple days to pick up a box (or boxes) of food items!

Support the Meeker High School FCCLA Empty Bowls fundraiser from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at MHS on Thursday, January 27! You can also cheer on your MHS Basketball teams as they host the Rangely Panthers!
